2025 - 2026 Tournaments

Tournaments are an exciting part of the Grayslake Youth Wrestling experience, offering wrestlers a chance to apply the skills they've learned in practice. All tournaments are optional, and we participate in both local and regional events, including beginner-friendly tournaments for first and second-year wrestlers.

Tournament Schedule

Tournaments are typically held on Sundays around 9:00am with registrations and/or weigh-in starting at 7:00am. Check back for new tournaments to be added to our schedule.

Weigh-ins are either held on-site on the morning of the tournament, or remotely through our club at practice on the Thursday prior to the tournament.

Tournament Wear

A singlet or compression shirt with fight pants is mandatory for tournaments. A limited supply of tournament gear may be available to borrow from the club if needed. Please see our Gear page for more information.

Wrestlers are also required to wear wrestling shoes and headgear for competition.

Tournament Registration & Fees

Tournament registrations will either be through USA Wrestling, Trackwrestling, or internally through Crossbar. All wrestlers competing in tournaments MUST have an actice USAW membership. No exceptions.

Registration fees typically range about $20-$30 per tournament. Once registered, these fees are non-refundable.

Parental Assistance

Parents are required to assist throughout the tournament day, from check-in to supporting their child between matches. While our coaching staff will be there to guide and coach wrestlers, parental presence is essential for a smooth experience.

Does my wrestler have to attend tournaments?

No, all tournaments are completely optional. We encourage parents to discuss with their coaches whether their wrestler is ready to compete in a tournament. We plan to attend multiple beginners' tournaments, which are highly encouraged for first and second-year wrestlers to gain experience and build confidence.
